Black & Decker NPP2018 electric pole chain saw reviews
We have found many reviews all of them very positive with a couple of exceptions which can be blamed on bad luck and receiving a defect machine, which happens with every machine no matter how good the overall quality is.
Many people praise the quality and durability of the electric pole chain saw, and are amazed how easily it cuts through branches of up to 3 inches thick. When the branches are thicker it is a bit more difficult for the NPP2018 to get through and the battery drains a bit quicker with the thicker branches as well.
Most reviewers found the Black & Decker NPP2018 electric pole chain saw very easy to use, especially compared to gas fueled pole chain saws. Of course the 18 volt battery can’t compare in strength to the gas fueled versions but it still does a great job. There was even a review from a 73 year old man who found it easy to handle.
The 14 feet reach makes it easy to reach most tree limbs. The battery is very good and for the longer jobs you can easily replace the empty battery with a similar 18 volt Black & Decker battery.
The strong canvas carrying bag is a nice and useful bonus.
According to our research the Black & Decker NPP2018 electric pole chain saw offers great value for your money and is great when you need a more portable chain saw with a long reach. It’s very easy for us to give this pole chain saw a strong recommendation.
With its 15ft. reach the Remington RM1015P is a great solution to get rid of branches that are normally out of reach. The RM1015P has an 8 Amp motor that drives a saw with a 10in. low-kickback bar and chain. The electric pole chainsaw can also be used as a normal pole-less chainsaw, without the use of tools. The Remington pole saw is corded, making it less portable than for example the B&D NPP2018, but it also eliminates the trouble of having a full battery at all time or having fuel around. It is ready to use right away, just plug it in and begin. No worries of running out of fuel or power.
As with most other electric pole chainsaws we found Amazon.com to have the best price on this one plus you can get free shipping which is always nice. Go to Amazon to check it out
Using a chainsaw is not without danger. When using a pole chain saw you often find yourself standing under the branch that you are cutting, this is something the machine can’t protect you from so we always advise to wear a helmet and other protective gear. Check out our e-book for more information, it teaches you how to safely handle a pole saw, how to do maintenance on your saw to save on repair costs and techniques to actually use the pole saw. see the (pole) chainsaw 101 page.
This Remington pole saw has all the safety features you can expect from a mid-range chainsaw. Of course it doesn’t have all the extras like an expensive gas powered chainsaw has, but for the price that the Remington RM1015P is available you get more than your money’s worth.

Remington Pole saw RM1015P 10-Inch 8 Amp Electric pole chain saw review
The RM1015P is a popular product so it was not difficult to find a plethora of reviews. All of them positive. No angry reviews of disappointed buyers. But even though everybody was positive, some people did add some negative points to their positive reviews.
A problem that was mentioned a couple of times was that the chainsaw leaks oil when stored. This is a common problem with chainsaws and to prevent a sticky mess you can just simply wrap a plastic bag around the chainsaw when you store it.
And some people say it is a bit too heavy and slightly difficult to handle. Of course an electric pole chain saw is not as light as a manual pole saw, and when used fully extended it does require some upper body strength. But there were quite a few reviews from people who found the Remington pole saw very easy to handle of whom several women and an 81-year old man.
These were the only two real complaints people had about the Remington pole saw, which is very positive.
Almost every reviewer positively commented on the fact that you can use the RM1015P as a normal electric chainsaw as well. You can easily detach the chainsaw from the pole without any tools.
The Remington RM1015P is a great electric pole chain saw and the fact that you can use it as a normal pole-less chain saw as well makes this chainsaw a winner, more than worth it’s money. Therefore we give the Remington Pole Saw RM1150P a strong recommendation.
It’s that time of the year again. The garden is growing beautifully but nature doesn’t care that you want the sun to reach your flowerbed, making the tree grow and extend its branches like a hand in front of the sun. Your garden might be growing wild. To take it back from nature and shape it the way you want you will probably need to prune those trees. That’s an annoying and tiring (recurring) task. You can make it a bit easier on yourself by using a chainsaw, but then you still need to stand on a wobbly ladder with your saw above your head. This is not only very exhausting it is also very dangerous. That’s why Remington made a pole chain saw. With the Remington RM0612P 6-inch 6-amp Branch Wizard Electric Pruning Pole you don’t have to stand on a ladder ,you actually don’t have to do much at all. Just connect the electrical cord, put the bar and chain against the branch, apply a little pressure and go straight through the branch like a warm knife through butter. Just be careful the branch doesn’t fall on you. With its 12 feet reach you can reach many branches without the use of a ladder.
This is a good electric pole saw and you can go directly to Amazon to pick it up for the best price including free shipping, but it’s wise to read our whole review before making your decision.
The RM0612P has a 6 inch low kickback bar and chain, which is a bit on the small side but for most users it is enough. It is corded so you don’t have to worry if you still have gas left or if the battery isn’t empty. This means that this electric pole saw is easy to use around the house. But if you have a very large garden you will need an extra long extension cord or a pole saw that runs on gas or uses a battery.

Remington RM0612P Electric Pole Saw Reviews
This is not the first Remington pole saw we review, we also reviewed the Remington RM1015P. Both Remington electric pole saws have their advantages, the RM0612P’s (the model we are reviewing now) main advantages over the RM1015P are that it weighs less and it is a bit cheaper.
The advantages of the RM1015P over the RM0612P are quite strong it can reach 3 feet further. It has a 10 inch bar and chain so it can cut branches as thick as 10 inches in diameter. Which is 4 inches more than the RM0612P. It’s engine is stronger, letting it cut more easily through thick branches and the biggest advantage of all is that the RM1015P can be used as a normal electric chainsaw. The chainsaw is removable from the pole, without the use of any tools.
The reviews of the RM0612P are mixed but mainly positive. A frequent complaint is the gears of the saw are weak because they are made of plastic. You cannot fix them, so once they break you need to replace the whole chainsaw. Also the pole is not telescopic so it can be a bit annoying to wield and store. Aside from this most people were surprised at how strong such a small little engine could be. It is so easy to use that even an elderly lady was surprised how easy it was.
In conclusion: If you need to do some light work and really can’t spend more than this, get the RM0612P. But if you can spare a few bucks more and want a better product then get it’s big brother the RM1015P (Read the review here). It is stronger, longer, has a bigger saw, a telescoping pole and a removable chainsaw.
You got some serious garden work ahead of you? Need to trim trees, edge sidewalks, take care of the grass, you can get a tool for each job, but then you have to pay for the most expensive part each time, the engine. With the Tanaka power equipment TBC-255SFK Commercial Grade Gas-Powered Powerhead you get a grass trimmer, stick edger and pole saw attachment. These tools are all of a commercial grade and the powerhead of the Tanaka TBC-255SFK is driven by a powerful 25cc 1.3hp gas-powered (CARB Compliant) Tanaka Purefire two-stroke engine with an extra large 23oz tank so you can work longer and be more productive. The Tanaka TBC-255SFK is used by professionals and quality-demanding consumers. If you have ever used a Tanaka tool then you don’t need to be convinced of the great quality and power/weight ratio, or how easy to use they are.
This combo kit is packed with impressive features for easy starting, safety, easy handling, easy installing of attachments and more. The trimmer has a no brainer quick-load head that makes it super simple to put a trimmer line in, just by pressing a button you can slide the trimmer line in, release the button and you are done. The edger has an 8 inch blade adjustable to 3 inch edging depth and a 6 inch solid rubber wheel. The pole saw has a 10 inch Oregon bar and chain and the length of the machine is a little bit on the short side with around 4 feet, but it can be extended by getting either a 2 feet or a 3 feet extension pole.
Tanaka is very generous with the warranty and offers 2 years warranty for commercial use and 7 years warranty for consumer use. Although with the quality of the Tanaka tools, it is unlikely you will have to make use of the warranty.

Owners of the Tanaka TBC-255SFK are all positive the only two negative points that come up is that this tool is made for experienced users who know how to maintain a tool like this. But with a bit of common sense it is easy to maintain. If you want to know more about how to maintain a pole chain saw or you want to learn (pole) chain saw techniques then check out my book. Most people that own a Tanaka TBC-255SFK say they only have to clean the air filter and replace the sparkplug every now and then. Which is not much work and isn’t complicated to do at all.
The other thing some people were not too happy about is that the pole saw is a bit on the short side if you compare it to the Poulan Pro PP446ET, but you can make the pole the same length by getting a 2 feet extension from Tanaka or go 1 feet further and get a 3 feet extension pole.
Owners of the Tanaka TBC-255SFK say that the string trimmer is much quieter than other string trimmers and the no brainer quick-load head is really easy to use. But some people find it a bit of a waste that almost half of the string isn’t used when you need to replace it. Although the no brainer head of the string trimmer is seriously convenient, professionals change it for a alloy 4 point manual head CH-300. But that’s only for commercial use. For normal use there is not much need to change the head.
This Tanaka TBC-255SFK gets favored over the competition, like the Echo pas 225VPB, for many reasons. It is light, around 10db quieter than most, the string trimmer is really good and quiet, and so on. Tanaka (Hitachi) was the first two-stroke engine manufacturer to certify to the stringent C.A.R.B. Tier II emissions regulations. While most other manufacturers were fighting against the standard, saying it couldn’t be done.
The Tanaka TBC-255SFK Grade Gas-Powered Powerhead Grass Trimmer/Stick Edger/Pole Saw 3-in-1 Combo Kit (CARB Compliant) is a great quality product for the more demanding user. It’s a bit of an investment but while other tools become as good as useless after a couple years of intense use, the Tanaka will still be going strong.

Pole chain saws and normal chainsaws are dangerous and can be expensive.
Many people get hurt every year by chainsaw related accidents, many of which could’ve been prevented if the user knew exactly how to use a chainsaw or pole chain saw and how to do proper maintenance.
I’m Brad Farser, I’ve worked at a chainsaw dealer and service centre for many years and in that time I’ve seen many people come in with a chainsaw that they probably could’ve fixed themselves or even prevented from breaking down in the first place, but instead they come to a service centre and get charged money they could’ve saved.
Then there are the people that come to the counter with a chainsaw they chose, but when I ask them what they will use it for, in many cases it is the wrong pick.
These are also the customers I am most worried about that they will injure themselves as they don’t realize the danger they are putting themselves in, nor do they know proper chainsaw techniques.
I wrote this e-book to explain in an easy way how to use a chainsaw or pole chainsaw safely. How to do maintenance to save you an expensive trip to a service point or dealer and to help you to find the right (pole) chainsaw for you. Knowing how to use a chainsaw or pole chainsaw and how to do maintenance can prevent you from hurting yourself and your wallet.
With this e-book you will:
Know what (pole) chainsaw is right for your purpose.
Know how to handle a chainsaw in a safe way. Minimizing the chance you or others around you get hurt.
Be able to do maintenance on your own chainsaw, saving you a lot of money in service costs and greatly extend your (pole) chainsaws lifespan.
Know exactly how to deal with common problems and malfunctions.
Learn techniques on how to use a chainsaw or a pole chainsaw.
Learn how to limb, trim, fell and buck a tree
And much more!

Do you need to trim more than a couple of simple trees? Are quality, comfort, safety and power the things you look for in a pole chain saw? And do you want your chain saw to start straight away when you take it out of the shed after not using it for a season? I know I do, and that’s why I love the Husqvarna 327P5X Gas powered pole chain saw. The 327P5X is a gas powered 25cc pole chain saw from Husqvarna which stands for high quality. For people who demand more from their tools.
The strong 25cc E-TECH® II engine combines high torque, reduced emissions and low noise, with a superior power / weight ratio. The 12 inch chainsaw can cut through branches and limbs of up to 10 in. thick. The Husqvarna 327P5X pole chain saw comes with a balance flex harness which with its ergonomic design and flexible suspension, will greatly reduce the stress on your arms, which we are all too familiar with when using a pole chain saw. The 327P5X comes with many features which makes this pole chain saw vastly superior over other pole chain saws. But what I personally find the best thing about this pole chain saw is that it is light and the weight is distributed really well, making it much easier to handle than other pole chain saws.
We have looked everywhere and found that Amazon sells the Husqvarna 327P5X pole chain saw for the best price. And I can tell you that the delivery and service is top-notch anywhere in the US. See it for yourself.
Using a chain saw can be dangerous. The Husqvarna comes with all the safety features you can expect on a pole chain saw. We strongly advise you to wear a helmet when using a pole chain saw and if possible protective chain saw chaps.

Husqvarna 327P5X gas powered pole chain saw reviews
Every review available, including my own, are very positive about the Husqvarna 327P5X pole chain saw. The instruction manual is very clear and it’s very easy to assemble the 327P5X. The gas tank has a window so you can see how much fuel is left. The automatic chain lubrication is filled up and adjusted easily. It starts extremely easy, and it is very light to pull the starter cord. The balance flex harness makes the pole chain saw, which of itself is already very light, even more easy to handle. It feels very well balanced with the engine in the rear end and the soft grip makes holding it for a long session more comfortable.
The engine is very strong. Even when going through a 10 in. limb it shows no hesitation.
The Husqvarna 327P5X pole chain saw even has a chain tensioner built in so you can adjust the chain without any extra tools.
I don’t have any experience with the warranty of this Pole chain saw, but I’ve only heard positive things from other people who do have experience with Husqvarna’s service.
The Husqvarna 327P5X Pole chain saw is the best Pole chain saw I have ever worked with that was not industrial grade. It is light, strong and reliable. The combination of a high quality pole chain saw and the harness make it almost too easy to use. This machine is absolutely worth it’s price. So if you have some serious work ahead of you then you can either keep struggling with a “normal” pole chain saw, or you can make it easy on yourself and get a Husqvarna 327P5X 25cc Gas Powered Pole Chainsaw. But it is not worth it if you are going to let it collect dust with your other tools.
Do your trees need pruning? You could hire an expensive professional gardener to do it for you. Or you could do it yourself. But a good gas powered Pole Chain saw like a Tanaka or Husqvarna can easily cost you around $500.- . That is way too much if you just want to cut some tree limbs 2 times a year. But there is a cheap solution: the Earthwise PS40008 Electric Pole Saw.
It might not be as powerful as an industry-brand gas-powered pole chain saw, but it is more than powerful enough to cut through branches of 7 in. This is not to cut down that 100 year old oak tree, but you can cut away the dead branches, branches growing over your house and other lighter work.
As with most other pole chainsaws we found Amazon.com to have the best price on the Earhtwise PS40008 Electric Pole Chain Saw plus you can get free shipping which is always nice. Get more information or just get it from Amazon.
The Earthwise PS40008 is a corded Electric Pole chainsaw with a 10.2 feet extension pole. Making it easy for you to prune the trees around your house, without ever worrying if you still have enough gas left, or if the battery will hold long enough.

Earthwise PS40008 Electric Pole Chain Saw review
Although this is not one of the most popular pole chain saws on the market, We still found a fair amount of reviews. Most of them were very positive.
As with all electric and gas powered pole chain saws the most common complaint is that it is on the heavy side when used fully extended. Some upper body strength is required. The PS40008 is easy to assemble but the instructions are not very clear. Which results in some problems, like someone who complained that the saw didn’t cut well but after reassembling it it cut through branches like a warm knife through butter. The problem was probably that the chain was put on backwards. You can prevent this by studying the small diagrams that come with the chain saw. Also make sure you buy some chain saw oil, as the Earthwise PS40008 doesn’t come with any. The chain saw also seems to collect a lot of wood/debris under the casing which can eventually stop the chain from working. When or before this happens you should get rid of the wood under the casing, just make sure that you unplug it first!
Overall the reviews are very positive. People are surprised about the quality of the Earthwise as it is very cheap but still does a great job.
Our conclusion is that the Earthwise PS40008 is a good electric pole chain saw but it has its flaws, but none of the flaws actually prevent it from doing a great job. In case of the saw colleting cutting debris in the casing, you can easily clean that out and continue your work.
This electric pole chain saw is cheaper than the others but it does its job well and is more than worth every penny, That’s why we give the Earthwise PS40008 a strong recommendation, especially if you don’t want to spend much on a pole saw.

Poulan Pro PP446ET Gas Powered Pole Saw Review
The reviews of this Gas Powered Pole Saw are mixed. Even though it has an “Effortless Pull Starting System” there are many complaints about the PP446ET having trouble starting, especially when cold. Also there are quite a few people experiencing different malfunctions, which of course happen with any product. The problem is that the Poulan Customer Service is not very helpful (to say the least). In all cases the caller gets pointed to a Poulan Service Center in their area, which in some cases is quite far away. The Poulan Service Center will check your product for you and then either fix it or tell you that Poulan will not reimburse the service for this problem. In which case you have to take your not properly working pole chain saw home and call with Poulan again so they can SELL you the part that you need.
Aside from this the Poulan Pro PP446ET just needs a little getting used to. Problems like the saw stalling a bit when held “too” vertical can be prevented by raising it with the chainsaw on full throttle or at least high speed.
Most people are positive and as there are many people complaining about the Poulan being difficult to start, there are just as many people praising how easily it starts. The string trimmer attachment is easily attached and does a good job, although some people find that it works better with a thicker string.
Amazon sells this Gas powered Pole saw for the best price. It should not be compared to the 25cc version sold at Lowe that is weaker and doesn’t come with the string trimmer attachment.
Overall we still give the Poulan Pro PP446ET a positive recommendation.
It is stronger than the electric pole chain saws but is not as strong and durable as an industrial-brand pole chain saw. It costs not much more than an electric pole chain saw and thus is much cheaper than industrial-brand saws. You definitely get your money’s worth.
Attention! Poulan has stopped the production of the Poulan Pro PP446ET. There are still a few available but at higher prices. A good replacement model is the Poulan Pro PP338PT 8-inch 33cc 2-stroke Gas powered Pole Pruner With String Trimmer Attachment.
*Poulan Pro 33cc Pole Pruner with Trimmer Attachment Included. 2-cycle gas engine. Attachment capable straight shaft. 8-Inch bar and chain auto gear drive oiler. J-Handle. Trimmer head included.*
